Kristian Makespeace is the no nonsense managing partner at Castor, Makepeace, & Pollux, a legal firm in Atlanta.
She originally planned on going to college out of state, but after the death of her mother and a series of mishaps on the part of her father, she found herself with fewer resources than anticipated, so she enrolled at Georgia State University in her hometown. She followed up her undergraduate degree by attending GSU’s well-regarded College of Law.
An incident involving Judge Castor, who was a family friend, gave Kristian the opportunity to become an intern with the judge, ahead of several more experienced students. She remained with him when he decided to return to private practice. Castor and Pollux were fierce rivals before trying to work together as partners which led to Kristian becoming managing partner when the two decided they couldn’t be in the office on the same days.
As a result of her success, Kristian enjoys the finer things in life, such as her vintage Aston Martin automobile.
Kristian has a younger brother, Jimmy, who is the only person who can get away with calling her “Krissie” anymore. Jimmy likes to push the boundaries of the world he inhabits so having an older sister who’s also a capable attorney is a major advantage.
Jimmy is dating Emma Sprague, who lives in the group home in Avondale where Jimmy resides.
In Atlanta Stories: Terminus, Kristian emerges as the chief rival to Leah for Dottie’s affection.
While they’re having coffee and bagels one morning at Dottie’s, Kristian suggests Leah consider retaining her law firm to handle the legal affairs for Leah’s company and family. Leah has been handling these duties herself, working with Steven Asher to take care of items that require a lawyer. A legal firm would provide more comprehensive representation.
Kristian secures a meeting with L. J. Walker Security Consultants by agreeing to Leah’s one stipulation, that Castor, Makepeace, & Pollux find a role for Steven in their firm.
Genevieve sets out to get Leah and Dottie back together in Terminus and scopes out the competition when she meets Kristian at the law firm.
