I’ve been experimenting with creating realistic looking images that appear to be from the mid-20th century, using family photos from the era as a reference.
The image of Sarah Melinda Rosales Walker (Leah & Alyssa’s mother) was generated using Adobe Express or the AI creator in Photoshop and edited in Photoshop Express on my iPhone to switch outfits to something more appropriate to the time period. I then created a square about a hundred pixels wider and an orange color. I centered the image on the background and increased the transparency of the orange layer to about 25-30% and added the date stamp on the left. I also blurred the image to suggest an amateur photographer, and created a reddish background, then faded the photo a bit since I’ve observed that photos of that era tended to take on a red or green hue as they aged.
In Worthy (and the update Another Mother), this is one of the photos Genevieve sees that shows her she looks like her grandmother. The photo itself would have been taken by one of her parents around the time she graduated high school and just before she went to Atlanta to attend college. Melinda is also the Ghost Queen from Rebecca Too, where her death causes a rift between Alyssa and Leah.
