Seeing Melinda’s senior portrait convinces Genevieve that Leah (or LJ as Genevieve calls her) is her biological mother. When Leah sees Genevieve outside her office, she first believes she’s seeing Melinda then realizes it can’t be her mother, who died in 1991.
To generate these, I used the photo below as a reference and entered one prompt instructing Firefly to create a senior portrait of her from 1965 and a second prompt for a senior portrait of her from 2013 with specifics for the individual character. I then had to use the 1965 portrait as a reference and duplicate it with different eye color because the characters don’t have the same color eyes in the story. There were several variations of photos produced and these were the closest to what I wanted.
I didn’t request the writing on the first photo or the tassel in the second photo but I regard those as part the random elements Firefly inserts that add an element of spontaneity to the renderings. It’s something I wouldn’t have thought to include but could be present in an actual portrait from the time period.
The light blue hoodie from the original has also become Genevieve’s preferred attire prior to the point at which Leah starts influencing Genevieve’s taste in fashion.
