After trudging through the woods in a tattered princess outfit, Alyssa encounters a mysterious stranger in a clearing who seems to know everything about her.

Alyssa asks if she and her husband, Tim will ever have children and The Storyteller gives her a glimpse of the future by showing her what her children will look like. He warns her that she can’t directly interact with them, however.
“Their existence is a fact, but their stories have yet to be written,” he explains.

The Storyteller gives Alyssa three tasks to accomplish to find her way home: Protect the boy; reconcile with the fair maiden; confront the dragon.
“There’s always a dragon,” Alyssa muses.

Their encounter finished, The Storyteller awakens Alyssa with a kiss on the forehead.
